What are you now ready to let go of?

This is an article for women in their 30´s & 40´s who are ready to explore the seasonal changes of life with the question “What am I now ready to let go of?

Autumn is upon us here in the Northern Hemisphere aka Metal Season, the season of letting go. As we drop into Metal Season, it’s a great time to ask…

What am I now ready to let go of?

What am I refining or cutting away?

What am I simplifying?

If you are not sure and would love to explore this question further through the wisdom of your feminine, feeling body, keep reading or scroll down and tap the image as I have a FREE GIFT to support you below….

Autumn, the season of letting go.

Autumn is upon us here in the Northern Hemisphere, even here in the South of Spain. The mornings are finally greeting us with cooler temperatures, the golden hues are starting to appear across the hills and almost imperceptibly the leaves are starting to fall, as the trees begin their annual ritual of letting go.

Connected to the Metal element in 5 element theory, Autumn powerfully calls us to take stock and notice what we are ready to let go of, to cut back or perhaps look at where we can refine or simplify life as we approach the end of the year.

Think of how a metal sword cuts back or cuts away whatever it comes in contact with. Metal season speaks to us to do the same.

In Asian medicine, our colon is the yang organ associated with the metal element. It is responsible for the “drainage of the dregs”. It helps us to let go of regrets and move through grief and loss. It supports us in the challenging task of letting go of people, places or things that no longer serve us and need to go. Releasing the experiences that have left us spiritually constipated, feeling polluted, blocked up and dirty on the inside.

The Metal Element in your life.

If you are in your mid 30’s to late 40’s (your Metal years) you may be already feeling this desire to let go of people, places or things or cut away aspects of life that are no longer serving you but perhaps it feels even more amplified now as we drop into Metal season.

At 43, this is very much where I am right now… The past many years have called me to do a lot of cutting away, a lot of deciphering what I truly want and don’t want; and a lot of grieving the people, places and things that I’ve had to let go of. And a call to focus on what is really important to me at this stage of my life.

Grief rituals have been a big support over the past few years as I move through this cycle of my life. If you would like to discover more about GRIEF RITUALS, jump over to this blog I wrote during the year, called “The Importance Of Grief Rituals“, see here.

The call of the Metal Element.

I could sense the energy of autumn approaching this year as after the intensity of August with its soaring temperatures I could feel a lot of squeezing in my body. When we passed Equinox however, a softening came and as I began to feel into what this Metal season is calling for me to do.

Sensitivity (aka our capacity to tune into subtle awareness) is a core skill of Feminine Embodiment. With this sense of awareness I have been honing for many years now I started to tune into what I was feeling in my body and to pay attention to what was happening in my world around me. I noticed the things people were saying to me, the questions I received and also the heaviness and confusion I was feeling within myself. Something was out of flow and was ready to go and this weekend it became clear what that was… !!

More is not always better.

As I’ve deepened my learning and understanding of this embodiment work, I’ve slowly added more and more layers. With every new course and new teacher came a new texture, a new depth and a new way to hold space and my work started to form branches that although felt exciting to learn, lately the complexity has started to feel heavy and has been stifling how I speak about what I do and even how I teach my classes. I’ve been overcomplicating things.

“More is not always better…” were the words that I kept hearing and with the arrival of Metal Season it became clear that I now need to let go of the complexity and see where I can simplify things and simply come back to the basics, the core essence, the true nature of what it is that I do and how I support the women I work with.

Like any tree, it’s wonderful to have many branches, flowers and leaves but if you are not solid in your roots and your foundations then you will not withstand the prevailing winds come Winter. Autumn is the time to cut back the branches and focus on nourishing the roots and trunk. And that’s what Metal season (aka Autumn) is all about, letting go of what’s not needed, cutting back the excess to create more overall strength and to support your continued growth and evolution.

Letting go and simplifying.

I already feel more lightness with this and I even went back to a question I often get asked… “What is Feminine Embodiment coaching?” I’ve been breaking this down into its simplest form if you’d like to know more. I’m currently writing a blog on this which will be coming soon.
