What is Feminine Embodiment?
What is Feminine Embodiment?
It’s hard to see another woman standing in her power and NOT feel awed by her.
It’s powerful to witness her in her strength, and her radiance in that strength.
Her energy is magnetic.
It’s powerful to see her truly and deeply value herself, her voice, her right to be heard. To take up space. To hold clear boundaries. To have difficult conversations and be heard.
Women in their power share themselves unapologetically. They know their worth. They ask for what they desire. They exude great confidence. Their presence is felt. They hold the energy of grounded Mother and exalted Queen.
We feel this from them and we know we want this too.
Most of us, however, even though we are grown women still for the most part act like young girls stuck in the energy of “Maiden”.
We do our best to be nice, to please others, to do what is asked of us, to be seen as cool or easy going and in doing so lowering our boundaries. Settling rather than asking for what we truly desire.
We avoid the hard things in life, the difficult conversations, speaking up, having our opinions heard, asking for what we truly desire instead of settling or making a scene.
We shy away from being seen as sexy or standing in our power for fear of being called a bitch, a whore, a slut. We place more emphasis on what others think of us than what we think of ourselves.
We doubt, we question, we feel confused. We don’t feel good enough, worthy enough and sometimes then we feel too much so we dim to fit in.
We often carry the heaviness of shame and guilt sometimes based on past events that have stayed with us and sometimes for unknown reasons, there is just this underlying felt sense of it.
But how do we bridge the gap?
How do we move from Maiden to Mother to Queen?
This is the journey of Feminine Embodiment.
Feminine Embodiment is the archetypal journey from
Maiden (Adult Child) to Mature Feminine.
And really this is a rite of passage that all women should be taken through as they cross the threshold into womanhood at menarche (their first bleed). But this rite of passage is NOT recognised or supported for the most part in our modern world. A world that quite often lacks the presence of the “mature feminine”.
Most of us didn’t grow up with mothers who were established in their rooted, grounded, mature feminine and did not embody the qualities of Mother or Queen with such veracity that they could positively demonstrate for us how to develop into a mature woman.
Most of us had mothers who did their best but were themselves un-mothered or un-initiated into this right of passage from Maiden to Mature Feminine and because of this lacked the skills to demonstrate to their daughters how to step into the fullness of who they are and stand in the power as mature women.
It’s a journey and one that takes years and cannot be taken alone and it best taken in community.
We are here to be supported on this journey.
To be held as we meet these tender edges and expand into new territory on this journey to Mature Feminine. To be supported as peel back the layers of who we are not so that we can become all of who we truly are.
This is the work we are doing in my 1-1 coaching and my self-led containers.
If you want to be held on this journey.
This is the space where you will receive that support.
You came here for this and I am here to hold you through it.
